Medical Issues In International Adoption

This course will provide an overview of common medical issues faced by children adopted internationally.

This course will help you:

  • Understand the medical and developmental consequences of institutional or foster care on children.
  • Understand the medical issues common to your child's country of origin.
  • Recognize the importance and role of medical and developmental professionals in assessing children's health.
  • Become aware of the most common medical conditions faced by children adopted internationally.
  • Prepare yourself to travel to bring your child home.
  • Identify the post-adoption medical and developmental resources available to your child.
